OUR GAMES

In July 2027 we aim to deliver the most cohesive and celebrated Invictus Games in its history. For the first time accommodation, sports, ceremonies and entertainment will all be in one location and on one site.

The UK venue Partner, The NEC is perfectly placed with an international train station, airport and great road connection, along with a proven record of putting on international sporting events, rich cultural events and musical concerts with a purpose built entertainment arena for the opening ceremony Birmingham itself is powerfully connected to the Invictus community, the QE Hospital (which treats our Wounded, injured and or sick, from the UK but also our allies), Royal College of Defence Medicine (which trains our clinicians), Fisher House (which accommodates families whilst their loved ones are treated), and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre are all based in the region and are individually and collectively committed to supported the WIS community and the Birmingham bid to host the Invictus Games in 2027.

So far the UK’s successful bid has attracted so much support from across the UK – Whether that’s the Government at National level, to the Mayor of the West Midlands and Birmingham City Council at local level; from small businesses to multinational corporations and of course the full might of the military is behind this bid, with a really strong letter of support from the Chief of Defence Staff.

The international legacy is key to our ambition. The UK have built up a formidable reputation as a world leader in physical rehabilitation which these Games will help to shine a light on a global platform, and particularly bring to the fore the work we’ve been doing with Ukrainian counterparts in the last two years.
