Sonia Howe Joins Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Impact and Legacy
Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 are proud to announce that Sonia Howe, a former Paralympic athlete and experienced leader at the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, will be joining the delivery team for the 2027 Invictus Games as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Impact and Legacy.
Sonia Howe brings a wealth of experience to the role, having represented Great Britain in wheelchair basketball at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens and most recently serving veterans through her leadership role at the Office for Veterans’ Affairs. In her new role, Sonia will oversee the operational delivery of the 2027 Games and will be responsible for ensuring the long-term impact and legacy of the event. Her leadership will focus on creating meaningful experiences for participants and driving initiatives that benefit the broader veteran community long after the Games have concluded.
Speaking about her appointment, Sonia said, "I am honoured to join the Invictus Games UK 27 team and contribute to an event that highlights the resilience and strength of the veteran community. I look forward to working alongside such a dedicated team to ensure the success of the Games and to leave a lasting positive impact."
