IMPACT AND LEGACY: VETERANS & CHARITIES

Lee has over 30 years' experience in the Armed Forces serving with both the Army and Royal Navy. A fully diverse military and government background, tours include Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan not to mention smaller operations from humanitarian support, counter-piracy operations in the Malaka Straits and Maritime Interdiction Operations both in the Gulf and West Africa. An Alumni from the Defence Academy with a Masters from Kings’ College London in Defence and International Relations, this led to numerous roles at the Ministry of Defence, latterly as the senior strategic medical advisor during the COVID pandemic. For this and operations in Afghanistan, Captain Hazard was awarded the Order of St John and the Order of the British Empire respectively.

Whilst seconded to the Invictus UK 2027 Executive Team, Lee maintains his Head of the Royal Navy’s Medical Services Specialisation and an Honorary Physician to the King. Outside of the military he is an avid reader of history, a keen road cyclist, alpine skier and rugby youth coach.
