Good Luck to Team UK for Invictus Games 2025
The stage is set for the Invictus Games 2025, taking place in the beautiful cities of Vancouver and Whistler, and the UK proudly stands behind its extraordinary team of competitors. With the Opening Ceremony of the Games drawing near, we extend our support from Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 to Team UK as they prepare to showcase their strength and newfound skills to the world. This year, Team UK’s competitors will compete in a variety of disciplines – with this year’s games including the new addition of Snowsports on the Whistler mountains - demonstrating their strength, courage, and determination in overcoming their personal challenges, and committing to their recovery journey.
The Invictus Games, founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, in 2014, are a testament to the resilience, determination, and camaraderie of wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women. However, the Games are not just about competition—they’re about reconnection and recovery. They offer a platform for individuals to share their journeys of rehabilitation, both mentally and physically, whilst also creating an opportunity for their friends and families to reconnect with their loved ones. The Games are built on a foundation of providing these competitors control of their lives after their injury or illness. Their journey is a testament to the transformative power of sport, showing the world that even in the face of adversity, there is always the potential for growth, strength, and new beginnings.
When visiting Team UK’s final training camp in Loughborough last month, Wheelchair Rugby Caption, Mac McLaren, encapsulated the power of Invictus when discussing his journey, commenting: “Having the Invictus Games programme and the sport that came with it, really lit my fire again. It gave me passion, gave me focus and determination... it gave me my life back”.
Team UK’s competitors embody the qualities that make the Invictus Games so special. Their unwavering commitment to recovery, teamwork, and personal growth is evident in every training session, as they push themselves to achieve new heights. Team UK’s Captain Steve Hooper, affectionately known as ‘Hoops’, was bursting with pride and excitement for his fellow competitors, stating: “Watching our competitors push through every challenge has been nothing short of amazing. I couldn’t be prouder of their dedication and spirit—this team is more than ready to make their mark and show the world what determination and willpower truly looks like”.
We invite everyone to cheer on Team UK as they embark on this incredible journey, with each participant bringing a story that reminds us of the power of community and perseverance. Together, let’s celebrate their achievements, support their efforts, and honour the Invictus Games' powerful message of recovery and resilience.
Follow their journey and celebrate their achievements from the UK on their official social media channels (Invictus Games Vancouver 2025), and broadcasted on ITV, as we unite to support these inspiring individuals, who truly represent what it means to be Invictus.
